Sheri Wakefield, 32, has joined Tempe as the city's economic development
specialist.
Wakefield will focus on the city's technology partnership with the Tech
Oasis, and recruitment of businesses. Wakefield returns to Tempe, where she
served as economic development specialist from 1990 to 1995. She brings a
decade of marketing experience to the position, most recently having worked
as the director of corporate marketing for Texas-based commercial
contractor C.F. Jordan Construction.
Her experience in the public sector includes national marketing
representative for the Arizona Department of Commerce and assistant state
director for the Arizona Small Business Development Center.
