Copper Square comes alive

Valley high-tech networking groups practically are stumbling over each other to draw technology businesses to their area.

More than 200 people gathered at Majerle's 9-Lounge in downtown Phoenix last week for the first Tech Oasis Night at Copper Square -- the youngest in a crop of networking events for techies.

The get-together, an extension of Tech Oasis sponsored by Copper Square and In-Flow, will be repeated on a monthly basis, said Andy Hanshaw, business development manager for the Downtown Phoenix Partnership Inc.

The purpose is to expose tech-savvy professionals to the attributes of Copper Square, such as access to bandwidth, a central location and thriving business climate, Hanshaw said.

The next Tech Oasis Night at Copper Square will be held in April.
